Antimicrobial iPad Screen to limit the spread of Covid-19 on our rental devices

Researchers found that Coronavirus can survive for many hours or days on specific surfaces. According to scientists the virus can survive up to 3 days on plastic, glass, and stainless steel. Copper however has been identified as the surface that is least favorable for the spread of coronavirus. While we meticulously clean our rental devices before and after each rental, Choose 2 Rent has researched a solution that helps our clients during their rental.

Antimicrobial Copper is inherently able to kill bacteria and the coronavirus on site within 30 minutes of contact with the Copper material. In response to the outbreak of Covid-19, Choose 2 Rent offers as of June 1, 2020 the option to apply a Clear Copper Antimicrobial Film to the screen of all rental iPad, Surface Tablet PC, rental iPod and rental Android Tablet PC. We strongly suggest that all clients who knowingly deploy our rental devices for the use of multiple people in public spaces or at events and conferences add our new protective film to their rental contract.

How it works

  • Bacteria recognizes the copper-ion on the copper surface as an essential nutrient, so the bacteria absorb it into the cell
  • The absorbed copper-ion penetrates the cell membrane, so the cell loses significant nutrients and water
  • Copper-ion pulls the active oxygen ROS (Reactive oxygen species) through the penetrated hole of the cell membrane
  • Bacteria gets serious prevention for respiratory and metabolic activity, which leads to complete extinction
